dataxu seeks a highly motivated Big Data Developer for the Streaming Analytics Squad to participate in the engineering of  dataxu ’s automated media decision platform for marketers. This position is based out of our Bengaluru (India) office. If you know what it takes to work with 100s of Terabytes worth of data, this is the job for you!!!

On the Job

• Develop, test, debug, support and enhance software as per product specifications.
• Work with a highly skilled engineering team in all phases of the product development lifecycle.
• Work with quality assurance, release engineering and product management to deliver quality software.
• Actively participate in reviews - code, design and architecture.
• Mentor and drive collaboration in a geographically distributed team and function.
• Willingness to learn new technologies is a must.

About You

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proven understanding of how to build complex, distributed, multi-threaded fault tolerant, self-healing systems.
• Ability to understand a large complex legacy system and able to make adjustments without breaking existing functionality (while its running as well).
• Expert knowledge of Java 8 (or more) and hands-on experience with Map Reduce family of technologies.
• Good understanding of Algorithms, Data structures and performance optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with UNIX environments.
• Strong sense of ownership and collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail with focus on quality.

Bonus Points

• Experience working with production deployments in AWS.
• Experience with test automation and containers.
• Experience with agile design and release methodologies.
• Good knowledge of Spark, Scala.
