Software Engineer.

Cloudera enables enterprises to build the world’s fastest, easiest and secure data platform using Hadoop to meet with the growing challenges in leveraging the power of data. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our Tools team; this team is responsible for building utilities that enable auto-detection of known issues and troubleshooting capabilities using diagnostics data. As a software engineer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, maintaining tools and optimizing overall system infrastructure. 
 

You will...

  • Architect and deploy technical infrastructure to scale ever-growing business needs. This includes designing data ingestion pipelines and modeling data for analysis.

  • Work on full-stack, design and build systems on Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase, and integrate with web front end.

  • Set accurate expectations as to the scope of work and required time to complete, and communicating status effectively through the completion of work.

  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with developers, test engineering, product management, support engineering, and customers.
     

You have...

  • Experience building Java applications or web services, working with the usual cast of tools (IDEs, Maven, JUnit, etc…)

  • Understanding of Object-oriented design, as well as developing testable code.

  • Good understanding of Unix or Linux, with the ability to accomplish tasks such as setting up a web server or installing a relational database.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Desire to create new things, dive in wherever there's a need, and learn new things.
     

You might also have...

  • SQL experience.

  • JavaScript knowledge

  • Big Data experience with Hadoop and Spark

  • Experience working with Machine Learning algorithms.

  • Experience with data ingestion and processing using NiFi, Kafka, Flume, Spark, or Hive.
